What we collect
- When you fill out the form: your name, your email, your phone number if you add it, and anything you type in the message box. The form also notes which printed card, flyer or ad, or which page of this site, it came from, so we know which ones work.
- If you click one of our Google ads: Google adds a code for that click to the web address. We keep it with your visit record, and with your form if you send one. If you send the form or book a review, we send that code back to Google with the date and time, so we know which ads work. We don't send Google your name, email or phone number.
- When you visit: like most websites, our web host keeps basic server logs. These include your IP address, your browser type, the page you asked for and the time.
- Visit records: we keep a record of each visit on our own server, using Umami. It includes your IP address, the pages you view and when, the site that sent you, your browser, device type, screen size and language, a rough location (city, region and country) worked out from your IP address, clicks on our call and email buttons, whether you sent the form, and how quickly the page loaded and responded on your device. If you fill out the form, we link what you send to your visit records. We also record how you move through our pages (scrolling, mouse movement, taps and clicks) so we can play visits back. Anything you type into the form is hidden in those recordings.
- To stop spam: the form keeps a scrambled version of your IP address for about an hour, so it can limit how often the form gets sent.
Our pages set cookies only for Google Ads, described below, and we don't use Google Analytics. The Microsoft booking calendar described below may set its own cookies. We don't change what we collect when a browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
How we use it
- To reply to you and set up your free review.
- To keep a record of our conversation, like any business email.
- To see how people find us and what they're interested in, so we can follow up and improve the site.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who else handles it
- Microsoft 365: form messages are delivered to our business email, which runs on Microsoft 365.
- Hostinger: hosts this website and keeps the server logs.
- Microsoft Bookings: the booking calendar on our Wi-Fi review page comes from Microsoft. When it loads, your browser connects to Microsoft, which sees your IP address and may set cookies inside the calendar. What you enter there goes to Microsoft and to us, and Microsoft's privacy statement covers its part.
- Google Ads: a few seconds after a page opens, or as soon as you scroll or tap, your browser loads Google's ad tag. Google sees your IP address and the page you're on, and sets cookies so it can tell us which ads work and show our ads to people who visited this site before, on Google and other sites. How Google uses this information.
- cdnjs and jsDelivr: they deliver the animation code the home page uses. Your browser connects to them directly, so they see your IP address.
We'll also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Form messages stay in our email for as long as we need them to work with you. Visit records stay on our own server. You can ask us to delete either at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Just email sales@augustusnetworks.com or call (812) 965-1307. To turn off personalized ads from Google, use Google's ad settings.
Keeping it safe
The form and visit records are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Messages are stored in our Microsoft 365 account, and visit records on our own server.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
